Product & Bailment Pool Manager (Rosemount, MN - Onsite)
Surefitters is a Minnesota-based commercial upfitter of Class 1–6 vehicles serving local, regional, and national fleets, commercial dealers, FMCs, and municipalities. We’re looking for a Product & Bailment Pool Manager to own our standard product roadmap and catalog — including our Work Ready and ToughLite lines — and to manage our OEM Bailment Pool program.
This is a product management seat first. You’ll decide what gets built next, build the business case, and take new products from concept through launch. Your second mandate is the Bailment Pool: OEM ordering, inventory, and dealer/fleet sales strategy, developed with our Sales Manager. You’ll lead outsourced mechanical design partners and work closely with Sales, Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain, Production, and Client Services — influencing without direct authority.
What you’ll do
- Own the standard product roadmap and new product development (NPD) list, and build business cases covering margin, volume, and payback
- Gather voice-of-customer input, warranty claims, and competitive intelligence to shape the catalog, reviewing it at least annually
- Lead value engineering, make-vs-buy decisions with Supply Chain, and SKU consolidation to improve gross profit
- Manage NPD from concept through launch
- Equip Sales and Marketing with spec sheets, battlecards, web content, training, and CPQ/quoting data
- Own the monthly OEM ordering cadence as the single point of contact, and shape the Bailment Pool sales plan with the Sales Manager
- Track vehicle arrivals, inventory levels, and dwell time, and run a regular Bailment Pool business review with leadership
What we’re looking for
- Proven product management experience — owning a roadmap, setting priorities, and leading cross-functional launches (required)
- Comfort building business cases and using data and KPIs to make trade-offs
- Ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority
- Entrepreneurial, owner mindset — you initiate and drive rather than wait for direction
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or an engineering-adjacent field preferred
- Bailment Pool, fleet, or dealer-sales exposure is a plus, not a prerequisite
